Pregnancy Pilates
Pregnancy Pilates
During pregnancy your body changes inside and out.
Your ligaments loosen therefor your joints are more mobile and your muscles have to work harder and with the growth of the baby, your centre of gravity moves forward.
You will have to adapt your physical exercise to your stages of pregnancy.
Knowing what exercise to do when is important. Maintaining Some core strength is important to sustain a correct posture and not let your lower back muscles do all the work!
As you get closer to your due date, your pelvis has to give to guide the baby down the birth canal and the pelvic floor muscles have to allow a widening of the inferior pelvic bowl.
As a clinical Pilates instructor with my osteopathic knowledge, I take all this into account when accompanying you through your pregnancy.
Pilates also focuses on the breath during exercise. Breathing out on the effort and breathing in on relaxation. This is key to get optimal activation of your core during your exercises. Focusing on your breath will help you with labour for a more efficient delivery.
Pilates is a great way to keep you moving throughout your pregnancy and also to keep you fit and prepare you for birth.
